Baltimore, MD, September 15, 2016, SIG , one of the premier employee benefit consulting firms in the country, was named a winner of Baltimore SmartCEO’s 2016 Healthiest Company Awards. The Healthiest Company Awards celebrate companies that have demonstrated a commitment to their employee populations through health and wellness programs.

Award finalists were selected by an independent committee of local business leaders based on the engagement, effectiveness and return on investment of each company’s health-conscious practices.

“This year’s healthiest companies are serious about creating programs that provide employees with the resources they need to enrich their well-being. Simply put, by investing in employee wellness, these companies are investing in their own success,” says Jaime Nespor-Zawmon, president of SmartCEO. “SmartCEO is thrilled to shine a spotlight on the companies that are leading a movement toward healthier and happier workplaces.”

SIG is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its wellness program, and president Richard Silberstein says he has seen the program grow to become an integral part of SIG’s culture. “Wellness isn’t just something we do; it’s part of who we are,” he says.  SIG has an entire team dedicated to wellness, including Rachel Druckenmiller, SIG’s Director of Wellbeing.

SIG has won numerous awards for their wellness efforts over the past few years. SIG's Director of Wellbeing was recognized as the Top Health Promotion Professional in the U.S. by the Wellness Council of America (WELCOA). The company also was named the 2016 Top Most Active Company in the country (small business category) by WELCOA this past year.
